!MARRIAGE DATE: 3 or 31 DEC 1703
!LDS Ancestral File shows her as born in Milford, New Haven, Ct.
"*Hannah was married Dec. 3, 1703, to John Sheldon of Deerfield. The t own of Deerfield was attacked by the Indians about three months after he r marriage, and she was taken captive with many others, and marched to ca nada, and after about tow years many of the captives were redeemed and re turned home. I have many reasons for believing that Hannah's husband we nt to Canada and obtained here release before the release of the other pr isoners. John , son of John and Hannah Sheldon of Deerfield, born in Spr ingfield, April 12, 1706." *Mr Chapin made a special note on this entry : "Hannah's friends felt some anxiety in regard to her settling in a fron tier town, and as she was making a dress previous to her leaving the pate rnal home, her mother told her she must make the dress so it would do t o wear into captivity."
