The Following is about Roger Barton, Hannah Norton's Husband: The younges t son of Joseph Barton. He is wrongly claimed as the loyalist Roger Bart on by Mrs Margaret Alberta Barton McLean in her book, "Roger Barton's Kin smen" (1940). He was born about 1730, living 28 Dec 1795. In April 1763 , When of Nine Partners, he married in Suffield, Conn., Hannah Norton, Bo rn there 18 June 1739, DAughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Sikes) Norton wh o were married in Suffield 28 April 1737. The Roger Barton was a granto r in a Suffiedl deed of 1767 and a grantee in one at Salisbury, Conn., i n February 1781.An Extant receipt (now owned by Allan B. Williams, as I a m told by Mr. Paul A. Barton, LaCrosse, Wis.) proves Roger Barton's Prese nce in Salisbury on 28 July 1790, When the loyalist Roger Barton was sure ly in New Brunswick. In 1791 the former was living at or near Falls Vill age, near Canaan, Conn., and at Canaan on 28 Dec. 1795 When he deeded lan d to Moses Row, The last known record.
